Hiking on Mountain Elgon deserted moorlands unveils magnificent
and uncluttered wilderness without the summit-oriented approach common to many mountains:
the ultimate goal on reaching the top of Mt. Elgon is not the final ascent to
4,321m Wagagai peak, but the descent into vast 40km2 Caldera.
Activities that can be done in this amazing game park are
mountain hiking, the shortest but steepest hike takes 4 days following the sasa
trail and the other trail is the sipi trail which takes 4 to 6 days and the
longest trail(Piswa trail) starts at the
village of kapkwata on the north side of the mountain beyond kapchorwa

northern and eastern side of Mountain, these are three water falls at sipi in
kapchorwa just outside the park, the lowest of these is the most spectacular as
it cascades over 100m cliff, you can stand behind the caves and enjoy the back
view of the falls.
A visit to the Nyero rock Paintings that o back to about 100
years, these are the finest of the several rock art sites in the region.
The wildlife adventure tour of the region, where you are
able to do bird watching, primate tracking, wildlife adventures of the buffaloes,
elephants and so many others you can get a chance to view the amazing
vegetation in the area. The mountain slopes are covered with OliveOleahochstetter
